’Twas the Night Before Fitmas: A Christmas Eve Workout Poem

’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring—well, maybe your spouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
But your workout mat waited—it was time to prepare.

The cookies were nestled all snug on their plate,
And visions of sweets danced—the temptation was great.
But you laced up your sneakers with resolve and a plan,
A quick holiday workout? Yes, you’re that kind of fan.

First, some stretches to start off the show,
Reach for the ceiling, then down to your toes.
A twist to the left, and a twist to the right,
To limber you up for this Christmas Eve night.

Next came the squats, as if sitting midair,
“Pretend it’s a chimney!” You chuckle and care.
Ten times you rise and you fall with such grace,
Imagining reindeer in their high-flying race.

Then onto some planks—you hold firm and strong,
Counting the seconds while humming a song.
“Jingle Bells” helps you push through the test,
As you picture the sleigh making its westward quest.

A round of jumping jacks gets your heart pumping,
Like the patter of hooves or Santa’s sleigh thumping.
You count out twenty, then pause for a breather,
Feeling the spirit—you’re no underachiever!

Finally, some balance—a one-legged stand,
Pretending you’re helping with gifts in your hand.
Switching each leg, you steady your core,
Feeling festive and focused, you’re ready for more.

With a cool-down of breathing, slow and serene,
You reflect on the joy this workout routine brings.
It wasn’t too long, just fifteen minutes or so,
But it kept you on track and let your fitness grow.

So as you sip cocoa and admire the tree,
Remember how movement keeps your body so free.
’Twas the night before Christmas, and you found your groove,
Staying healthy and festive—a truly wise move.

Merry fitness to all, and to all a good night!
